After affects of medication

Has the one year limit been made law yet?and wasn't there a suggestion for the one year to be increased to two?

Cant see them taking much notice of the side affects of GTN, many people take them sprays I do and have the side affects but they dont last long I always take a pain killer with the spray to cut the side affects

also you talk of being dizzy that should go if you lie down for a couple of mins... now if yor are saying the side affects are worse than what most people get, you might have another problem ... do you drive ? because if you do and your having dizzy spells you should tell dvla and they might say as the affects on you are not normal dont drive on days you use the spray .... if you have told your dr about these side affects its on your records so anyone involved with you in a car accident which was serious could cause problems as could any bump if you have not told your insurance company about dizzy spells

Hope so, as there will be many including myself who will be thrown into poverty because their wives or husbands earn just over the threshold.

It can be reintroduced at The Lords stage. However, holding your breath would be ill advised

An interesting written answer from Maria Miller in response to a question from Dame Anne Begg in yesterdays Hansard regarding the expected numbers affected by the one year limit on Contributory ESA for those in the WRAG. It confirms the government are still committed to working on the assumption it will remain as one year.


Dame Anne Begg: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what estimate his Department has made of the proportion of claimants who will cease to receive contributory employment and support allowance (ESA) payments having received them for a year, but will not qualify for income-based ESA or any other income replacement benefits in April 2012. [37486]

Maria Miller: As part of the Welfare Reform Bill, we have set out our intention to introduce a time limit of one year for those claiming contributory employment and support allowance (ESA) and who are placed in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG) from April 2012.

Current estimates suggest that of those affected by the proposal to time limit contributory ESA, it is expected that around 60% will be fully or partially compensated by income-related ESA. A further 20% are expected to be eligible for pension credit, housing benefit, council tax benefit or tax credits. The remaining 20% will not be eligible for income replacement benefits. However, people in this situation will generally either have a working partner or capital over £16,000 so will not be left without resources.

The estimates are subject to change as more information on customers in the Work Related Activity Group becomes available.
