chronic anxiety was created by cadge
Hi everyone,my sister has problems going out, she has only ever been about two miles from her home and in only one direction, sha has depression and chronic anxiety, she has never been on holidays or social events, when she does get she prefers to go alone, this is because she has better control of how far she goes, would she qualify for dla,or would they say no, because she doesnt depend on anyone else to take her,
thank you so much

DLA is awarded for the help you need doing tasks making a meal wash bathing going to the loo and much more help with drugs being watched to see you come to no harm.
Having any illness even serious ones does not mean you will get DLA 2 people with the same illness wont be affected the same... down load a copy of the form and have a look see what needs if any she has, and if she has needs even if they are not being filled she might have a case for trying for DLA they can only say no if you ask .. also get advise say from the charity mind and the local CAB too
at present in the UK we still have a right to DLA so get help and advice and see what happens

You may wish to refer to the guide entitled 'The Best Possible Disability Living Allowance Claims For Adults On Mental Health Grounds' to ascertain whether your sister may qualify for DLA in DLA resources.
