WFI private provider was created by Ranald
There is a new supermarket opening in my area soon and i would be really interested in applying for a check-out job there.
I remembered the first WFI i had, they told me they can place the claimant ahead of the queue with regards to interviews.
I went down there today, to see if this was the case but i found the place boarded up! I remember a letter saying there was to be a change but can't seem to remember what the content of the letter was.
Have all these companies (mine was called Triage) been closed down? I guess that means all the staff who were so condecending to me are on the dole now too?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The old Back To Work scheme was generally considered to be a failure and was closed down by the government earlier this year.
A new scheme, The Work Programme, is to be introduced in a couple of weeks. Basically, a handful of compnies will be paid a bonus for placing the unemployed into long term employment.

Hi Ranald,
A lot of of the pathways to work providers failed to win contracts under the work programme, so may well have gone by now.

Thankyou Gordon and Steve, i know those guys weren't the best trained or even able to offer much help but i still regret any job loses.
I guess they will be signing on with the millions by now.
I am starting part-time college in September, apparently one can do up to 14 hours part-time. I hope the new setup is understanding in this regard, the last lot were quite pushy about sending me to work in a call centre or shop.
I have MD and fall with no warning, i would have been a liability in a crowded shop on a Saturday afternoon!
