My wife and i care for our terminally ill disabled son, my wife is also on DLA top rates but has just had a letter for a pathways to work interview she rang and explained everything but the lady (who was very nice) said she feels terrible but the interview is compulsory. Is this right?

Is your wife receiving Carers Allowance for your son, or do either of you receive IB or ESA.Hi all,

Dave.
All of these benefits have WFIs and in the vast majority of cases are madatory.
There is a guide to WFIs in the Work section of the Members area.

Claimants who receive Carer's Allowance do not have to attend work-focused interviews.
If necessary, I can quote from the relevant legislation?
