I'm not entirely sure what you mean when you say you want to change your bank details (eg is it because you are switching to another bank?), but as long as you inform the IB section at your local JCP/BD office in good time, there shouldn't be any problems with your payments.

Hi helchis
I take it you mean informing the DWP that you want your benefit to be paid into a different account.
You cannot do this over the phone (at least I hope not or somebody else may have my next benefit payment), but you need to request a form or ask in writing.
If you do change the bank account that your benefit is paid into it is important to check both bank accounts until the switch over, as it may take one or two weeks before your new account number is on the system; your next payment may still go to the old bank account.
The only problem that I had when I switched was that the idiot at JCP who I gave my new account details to, left the form face-up on the customer services desk and continued serving the next claimant. She even went away to get a form for him, leaving my bank details on the counter for him or any other claimant to look at. I had to call her back and ask her to file the form first.
Perhaps it's safest to use the post.
Regards
Derek
