After ESA50 form returned was created by neilwallis2010
Hi After Atos receive the completed esa50 form how long does it usualy take them until you would normally have to have the medical on average
My situation is that I have been asked to complete the es150 by August 17th. I have another worrying condition unrelated to my current issues that required an urgent ct scan for diagnosis. This scan is likely to take place in the first week of September. The DWP are refusing to use any common sence by alowing me to complete this form a month later so I can list all my potential problems. I am wondering if I return the form on 17th August if the assessment is likely to take place within 3 weeks of atos receiving the form. If it usually takes longer atleast I would be able to confirm the new condition diagnosis prior to the medical taking place
I just realy want to have an idea of this timescale as I could be in the crazy position of being reused esa for existing issues then having to make a new claim and assesment a couple of weeks later for a new condition this is just adding to the stress of the situation and the DWP`s lack of common sence and flexibility is infuriating and causes added stress.
Thanks

You can mention all conditions on the ESA50 so you should state this new problem and that you are awaiting a CT scan which you anticipate to be beginning of September etc....

Hi neilwallis2010
I'm afraid the DWP can only consider your circumstances at the time the decision is made. They can't consider any potential diagnosis of the future and they are unlikely to delay making a decision to wait for it.
You can of course declare your additional condition on your ESA50 and state that an urgent scan has been arranged. It's obviously ideal but not absolutely essential to provide medical evidence to support your claim for a particular condition. The DWP still need to consider it and any medical information you receive later can be submitted after sending the ESA50.
If an adverse decision is made and you later receive further medical evidence you can submit it on appeal and it will be looked at on reconsideration prior to the appeal. But it is important that your ESA50 is sent on time.
Good luck
Derek
