support group criteria was created by judy hall
I'm supporting a friend who has both complex mental health and physical conditions. We don't understand the criteria for the support group- are they all or nothing? The complexity of her multiple problems (fatigue, pain, limited mobility, behavioural difficulties, anxiety, coping with change, difficulty eating and drinking) means that her well moments are few and far between, and all together they are immensely disabling, but they are variable and none of the support group criteria specifically fit all the time. Does this mean she has no chance at her upcoming medical interview of being placed in this group?

Hi Pollyanna

Only one of the support group descriptors must apply. If your friend's condition is variable it must apply for the majority of the time or the majority of the time when the activity is attempted.

Good luck

Derek
