Medical esa was created by mike
I have had my medical for esa and i was in and out within 15 minutes. I was seen by a nurse who was very nice. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment time and only had to wait about 5 minutes for medical.I was expecting the medical to last at least 30 mins. I have Me/Cfs and am on Ib. Has anyone else had a medical under 20 mins. I was told the dwp will write to me about whether i qualify for esa (the dreaded brown envelope). I will let you know the results of my medical and good luck to anyone else going through this process.

Wow. You really are the 'odd one out' Mike. To be seen so promptly Is practically a miracle. And then in-and-out so fast.

Very puzzled that the actual interview was so quick. I too have ME/CFS and mine went on for an hour as we circled round and round on every point as I explained "I can do XYZ but not repeatedly". I presume you must have given the nurse enough info to prove EITHER that you are fit for work (can walk 200 metres easily, can sit for 30 mins no problem, and all the other no-score descriptors) OR that you qualify for WRAG or SG. Which descriptors do you believe apply to you? (I guess you need only one SG descriptor to be 'done and dusted'.)

Did you provide written evidence from your doctor and/or specialist?

Do keep us posted!
Andy.

Hi Andy thanks for your reply i do not think i would have coped with an hour hope you got esa, i will post my results as soon as i receive them. I put on my esa form that i could walk upto 100 metres and sit 25 mins and stand 10 mins plus some mental health decriptors. AS you will know Me/Cfs is a very complex illness. I have had it about 17 years prior to that i was fit and healthy and rarely ill.

I did'nt send any written info from Doctor/specialist.So far my experience with Atos has been suprisingly okay, but whether i will get esa i do not know.

My last medical which was an IB medical, not ESA, was only 15/20 minutes, not long enough in my opinion as the doctor just didn't ask me enough and just filled her form in with repeated assumptions.

I attended a medical with a claimant last Saturday morning in Manchester. We were seen ten minutes before appointment time and the so called medical lasted 20 minutes. They did not ask who I was. No reference to their completeted ESA50 no reference to Doctors reports.

I realise this is not a discussion group, but like to add that I have been informed that ATOS medicals will may take place on Sundays as well. This has come from a source in the DWP.
