Hi, Karen

What a disgusting way to treat anyone. I really feel for you having to go through such outrageous, disrespectful treatment. You really mustn't let this ATOS so-called "professional" get away with this. She will just treat others the same way.

Make an official compliant, stating very simply what happened, what she said, etc. (what you put in your original post pretty much covers it!). NB: Complaining to ATOS is a completely separate issue to appealing the ESA decision.

Sending an 'electronic hug'.
Andy.

Thankyou all for your kind words..
The ATOS "professional" was a registered nurse.

I think its disgraceful how lacking in compassion these people are, its as though your guilty of being a benefit scrounger until proving innocence.

They have your life in your hands in a way !
can anyone tell me present criteria to get into support group as i thought communication was one of them.

Next we will have all this hassle with dla and that new system

There's so many complaints about these so called medical professionals moonlighting at Atos, I reckon they should be named and shamed plus the Atos centre that carried out the medical. .. I remember the last time I went to a Atos medical the so called medical professional was an Asian chap who could not speak english very well so I couldn't understand him or him me, so you can guess what a utter waste of time and money the assessment was.....

Hi Karen.

You are asking about support group criteria. If you and your husband completed the newer ESA form that came out in March, have a look at pages 14-18 in the mental health/learning disability guide, by clicking on the yellow 'MEMBERS ONLY' section.

(I can't see where the corresponding info is in the old ESA guide)

Francis - I can well understand you dreading another Atos encounter, though some of them must be ok???

Best wishes

Just to offer kind thoughts for you and your husband. That his needs warrant a place in a respite care provision suggests a high level of disability. Follow the advice given on this site and tackle this disgusting treatment. We need to stand up to bullies and let your MP help you to do this. Virtual support goes your way.
