ESA Doctor Question was created by jmoore
I am due a visit soon by a doctor at my home to access my illnesses to do with my chronic heart disease, diabetes, depression by a doctor who on the GMC registry is only licensed to practice as a medical practitioner but not as a registered doctor. The person also has a warning from the GMC , so I am wondering how is this doctor adequately qualified to determine my risk factors and condition to do work. This is my 3rd medical in 1.5 years. Anyone know anything about this ?

Hi,

Providing he/she is registered with the GMC and licenced (ie not struck off) then their rights and privileges are as listed here:

www.gmc-uk.org/The_Privileges_and_Duties...ers.pdf_27777748.pdf

Hence he/she if licensed would be entitled to carry out the duties of an EMP when employed or contracted to ATOS.

Pete

If we where to only see drs without marks by there name on the register waiting lists would shoot up...

they can get mark for drug errors dodgy way with the ladies to not keeping up with paperwork to a PCT reporting them for sending too many people for blood tests

if the register shows the reason why and its not serious I myself would not be worried IN fact I would rather see a dr who has been picked up, keeps them on there toes :)

Thanks Pete for the input. I am never sure with ATOS since originally a year ago I had to challenge their nurses report which was full of things I did not state and she even made assumptions as how long I would be ill. It took 10 months but I won the appeal without having to go to the tribunal but 3 months later ATOS have started the process again. This time around I also have diabetes on top of having had 4 MIs and chronic heart disease.

I just wondered if this person is really suitable to determine the high risk factors of such health conditions or not as the case may be.

Thanks for the posting
