Medical Evidence was created by smc
Just wondering what people think constitutes as medical evidence.

I sent my ESA50 in without any other paperwork, I fill the form in with great detail but didn't send anything else as I felt I didn't have anything else I could send.

Anyway someone said to me I should have sent appointment letters for hospital, prove I had appointments. Has anyone done this? It hadn't occurred to me that these were evidence.

I just wouldn't have thought sending a copy a letter that says you had or are having an appointment was classed as medical evidence, was a new one to me!!

I can see where letters that a consultant have sent to a GP could be of use. I only have a copy of one but it is two years old now and whilst it give diagnosis it waffles on about a load stuff which is not relevant now plus this consultant has since dropped me, wasn't prepared to try other treatments so I decided it best not to include copy of this letter.

Agree don't include any letters that you consider unsupportive.

It may not be the appointment letter that is being referred to, but the letter, resulting from the appointment.

Most Consultants, specialist nurses, etc. write a letter to your GP after each appointment advising them of what happened, diagnosis, medication etc.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Oh yes I know letters get sent to the GP from the hospital but no this person meant copies of my appointment letters, it just shook me, would never have thought of those being classed as evidence.
