Cushing's Disease

Hi All

This is my first post. I have Cushing's Disease and many other associated illnesses as a result. I just wondered if anyone else on the forum has Cushing's or any other endocrine problems?

OK I am confused... very confused my screen reader says your asking if anyone has your illness and its coming across to me that you have something horses get

Cushing's syndrome is not confined to humans and is also a relatively common condition in domestic dogs and horses.

Hi Dave,

Cushing's Disease, and Cushing's Syndrome, are potentially very serious conditions suffered by human beings.

It can be most difficult to diagnose, and it can be caused by problems with the pituitary gland, and other glands, as in the over production of cortisol.

I have a reasonable lay knowledge of this condition, as I was a suspected sufferer some years ago, and underwent weeks of testing, before a different diagnosis was made.

I am sure the OP will enlighten you further if they wish to.

ahhhhhhhhh that makes sense .. hearts big c strokes and blood no problem expert google on my side just typed it in and humans did not get a mention till page 2

Yes I am human! I know most people know about Cushings in relation to horses and dogs, but the human version is worse!!!!! Cushing's syndrome and Cushing's disease are different. Cushing's disease comes from having a tumour on the pituitary gland at the base of the brain. This is what I had. It affects every major organ in your body. I take loads of pills a day and have associated conditions. Had to give up my career in the oil industry in 2005 following neurosurgery in 2001. Won't bore you with any more details because there are too many, but would love to know if there are any other human sufferers on this forum. Carol
