Unfortunately I have my 'medical' tomorrow! (which I am absolutely dreading). I intend to write to BDC (or should it be JCP?) to ask for ESA65/85 - can you please tell me the soonest I could write to them? Could I come home tomorrow from the assessment and write to them, or should I give it, say, a couple of weeks? Also, is ESA65/85 the only things I should ask for, or is there anything else? thanks
Hi MG,
Firstly, good luck with your face to face tommorrow.
You can wait until you receive your decision from the ESA DM.
As well as the ESA85, as from June this year, the ATOS HCP has to type up a PSS, (Personalised Summary Statement) ESA85S, as an "Add-On" to the ESA85, so you should receive that also.
You can make a request for any medical evidence that they have used to come to their decision.
This could include an ESA113 etc, that they may have asked your G.P. to fill in.
cheers

Is this PSS typed up in the ESA85 or is it separate from the ESA85?
Could I also ask instead of starting a new thread, when appealing against being put in WRAG to try and get in the Support Group, does the money received stay the same whilst appealing or does it decrease?

Hi BS,
The ESA85S PSS, is an "Add-On" to the ESA85, and so should be provided with the ESA85.
However if you wished, you could actually mention the ESA85S, when requesting your ESA85.
If you are awarded WRAG, and appeal to go into the Support Group, you would receive the WRAG rate of ESA while appealing.
Please be aware though that there is some risk involved in appealing WRAG to support, as in a claimant could lose their WRAG award.
Before considering an appeal as mentioned, you should check out the ESA Resources, in the orange MEMBERS ONLY area on the left.
If you have any doubts regarding any risk, seek face to face advice.
cheers
