weird phone call was created by paula
A friend of mine who has schizophrenia and is on income support with disablity prenium had a bizarre phone call from the dwp on friday afternoon, they wanted to know all her personal details, how much she had in her bank account, if she lived on her own or not, had she been in hospital, which she has due to a relapse, and wether she is doing paid work, or volunteering which she is not. It has really stressed her and she has only been discharged from hospital. None of her circumstances have changed. She did not give back details to them thankfully. She knows I am a member of this site, and she asked me to mention this as she does not have a computer, and she suffers from paranoia as part of her illness, and this call has triggered it. They are going to send a letter confirming all the details. Is there anything she should do? She is feeling really anxious, and don't feel her team are going to help much with this.

Your friend would appear to have had an Income Support review.

There has been evidence on the site recently that the DWP are conducting IS reviews by telephone. Although it is obviously too late now, for future reference your friend or any other IS claimants for that matter, should decline the telephone interview and ask for IS review form A2 to be sent for completion.
