Hi, have dug latters out and DLA care component and mobility at lower rate awarded for life! Im unsure if that is still the case? Or can one expect to hear anytime or next year 2012. Still awaiting for the dreaded brown letter. In receipt of IB taxless, many thanks for any advice. Thank you for your support.

These days the equivalent award is indefinite, not for life, but either way, your award can be reviewed and indeed the DWP does review a proportion of awards every year through its Right Payment Programme.

As for how the reassessment process for PIP will work, we have yet to find out, not least because the relevant primary legislation has not yet been through parliament and then the procedures have to be drawn up, so it's wait and see, I'm afraid.
