Transferred from IB to WRAG was created by Mossy
Have just recieved notification that I have been placed into the WRAG after filling out a form and being transferred from incapacity benefit -I havent had a medical .

To make my day complete then a second letter dropped through the door about the welfare reform bill.

Would someone be able to clarify for me please,is it correct that anyone in the wrag group will lose benefits once the WRB comes in?

It's all come as a bit of a shock and i'm comtemplating appealing to try and get into the support group :/ how successful are appeals ?

Sorry if i'm asking stuff already discussed, heads a little muzzy

kind regards

fiona

If the bill becomes law in its current form, from some time next year (probably April), there will be a maximum number of days that you can claim ESA(CB) for (365) and this will apply retrospectively. Days in the assessment phase and the WRAG will count but not days in the support group.

I do not have figures for success ratees on appeals to the support group, but overall, appeals against ESA decisions have a success rate of 40% although your chances of success are greatly increased if you are represented by a welfare rights adviser.

Survivor,

I have a WRA who is helping me write a statement. She said that she did not need to be at the Tribunal on the day. Do you think she should be with me?

thank you,
cmarie

Can someone advise me .. I have been on incapacity benefit for over 10years and was recently assessed and placed in the Work support group for ESA. I wrote a letter to My local benefit office in Watford a few weeks ago saying I would like to appeal and today have recieved a copy of a medical report on myself from the jobcentre in Glasgow . It has a stamped addressed envelope in it back to the same Glasgow address.

There is no covering letter :S

What am i mean to do now ? :(

thank you

Hi F,

If you read the Appeals and ESA sections of our FAQ's from here :

FAQ’s

Your questions should be answered, as you will see you should appeal using a GL24 Form which can be downloaded from the appeals section.

All our ESA Guides can be accessed directly from here :
ESA Guides

If you have any further queries after reading the above, please come back to the forum, and we will try to help.

thank you . I did fill out the GL24 form and sent it off, ive recieved no acknowkedgement although I did ring and they said they have recieved it .

This Medical report though came from the glasgow office it was an ESA85A , I didnt request it but it came with a stamped addressed envelope which confused me ..

Should I just wait until I hear from my local office in Watford.

kind regards
