Unsupportive medical evidence for DLA was created by Catherine
Is it possible to have a DLA decision overturned at a reconsideration/appeal if a report completed by a psychiatrist at the request of the Disability Carers Service indicates their patient does not have any care or mobility needs (ie they have ticked no to questions about self neglect, needing prompting to maintain hygiene and nutrition and needing help getting about outside)?
Would a further statement from the same consultant outlining difficulties in these areas be taken into account, if they were willing to write one?
(The DLA form itself indicates significant care and mobility needs).
Any advice greatly received.
Thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

It is certainly possible, but the psychiatrist would probably need to explain the discrepancy between the two reports for there to be any credibility to the second one.

if you go in with a discrepancy you will be turned down it is best if you can get someone else in the care side to do a letter it is up to the individual though!
