RE stepsons ESA medical was created by Fleur
Hi,
If my son has to have a home medical for ESA, I will be present. If I explain how his illness affects his daily life, will this impact on me, because I claim DLA?
Thanks

There is no reason why your claim should be affected by these actions, however, if the care you provide your son is not comensurate with your own claim for DLA, there is the potential for issues in the future.Hi,

Thanks Gorden. I'm just worried that because I will have to answer a lot of the questions, regarding my step sons claim/illness as he is very ill now, they may suggest I'm fit for work!
I am not attempting to claim care allowance for him, as I claim SDA and DLA.
I haven't received anything more after sending off the basic ESA forms yet. I thought they would have sent an ESA pack asking details about his illness. Its been about 10 days and it was sent by recorded delivery. Do they take this long usually? thanks.

I would suggest you contact your local DWP office and ask for an update, it will do no harm to your sons claim, and hopefully, if there is a delay, they can tell you how long.

It normally takes abot 10-14 days for the DWP to respond, however, due to overloading of the systen, everybody is experiencing delays, some significant. Thanks Gorden.
