Help, paniking. was created by paula
Good evening everyone, sorry to ask a question, I checked the FAQ'S and could not find it. On Saturday the dreaded brown envelope turned up the start of the transfer has begun for me. They said they would call me within the next two weeks. They said if i miss their call i must call them back within 48 hours. Ther letter i recieved wass dated friday and i got it the foloowing day, from all of those who have been through it, how long can i wait for this draded call, because I will freak out, and I just will not cope with it, my heart is in my mouth, and i needed help from the cmht this morning becase od all this.
A friend of mine is two weeks in front of me, the same area, and they called him on the last day at 6 pm, he called them the following day and the esa 50 questionnaire was there first class the following day. I just do not want to talk to them at all, any thoughts would be appreciated, getting really stressed. Thanks. x

You do not have to speak to anyone on the phone if you do not want to - the transfer process will continue anyway. You might find this helpful

Hi Mrs Hurtyback, i went through all the guides, transfer process everything which were brilliant by the way, i do not deal with phone calls at all well, and the letter says you have to phone them back before the questionnaire is sent out I am on day 6 since receiving the letter. In regards to having a medical recorded by the way, do i put in separate letter in regards to this or do i add it onc.for all you excellent guides and support, we only have one benefits advisor here and he is over run with appeals and cab are under the threat of closure so have gone through the guides and at present filling out all the paperwork, and gahering support letters etc. My heart is in my mouth whenever the phone rings, i just can't cope with it, am not well enough x

We only have access to a copy of the letter from mid 2011, so it is possible that the content has been updated, however, we are not aware of any requirement that a claimant must rather than should contact the DWP at this point in the transfer process.

That said, only you can make the decision to call them or not.

You should be able to specify on your ESA50 that you require the medical to be recorded, but as the medical booking system runs in parallel to the ESA50 process, you may need to repeat the requirement when contacted to arrange a medical.
