Help with DLA claim form? was created by Dannan
After speaking to a disability charity, they have suggested I re-apply for DLA as I am entitled to it and it would help me live independently.

I am very scared of this process, as before when I tried to claim they sent an ATOS professional to my house who was rude, and then they denied my claim with untruths. After asking for a reconsideration, they accused me of just wanting money. I didn't appeal as I had no help. So I am scared.

But I am willing to try again. The problem now is that I have the form but I am finding it difficult to physically fill it out. The disability charity I am in contact with cannot offer help with this.

Is there anywhere I can go to get help from someone experienced regarding physically filling out the form? Even with your guides, I am having a lot of trouble understanding this form and I do not want to get it wrong and have the same experience as I did before when I tried to do it on my own.

Hi D,

There is a list of potential sources of help/advice here :

Where to get advice?

Failing that, try putting Welfare Rights, Advice, or something of that ilk into Google or other search engine, with your postcode.

Further, if you rent your property from an LA or Housing Association, they sometime have Welfare Rights Advisers.
