ESA Support Group Decision

1. I remember reading somewhere on this site that you can request the reason for being placed in the support group. How do I do this?
2. The award is Contribution based and it does not give a specific time limit but states that it will apply from May to the end of Nov 2013. This is not very long for someone placed in the SG automatically?
3. It has enclosed and application form ESA3 10/12 stating that we may qualify for Income Related ESA and therefore to complete the form.
Any thoughts please ...

After nearly 2 months from completing the ESA50 form my partner has been awarded ESA and placed in the support group - without an interview! Thanks to the advice and help on this forum. Just a couple of queries:

Many congratulations on the award.
with regard your questions
1. You can request the ESA85A, the prognosis is usually used to set the re-assessment date. There may also be an ESA72 which will also include this information.
2. The date is a DWP administrative date and does not reflect when another assessment will be done, except by coincidence.
3. As your partner is now in the Support Group they are now eligible for the Enhanced Disability Premium which is payable with ESA(IR), so depending on your circumstances there may be additional monies payable in the form of an ESA(IR) top-up, if this is the case, then you will also be eligible for the benefits passported by ESA(IR),

Hi MSC,
You could do, we have only heard from a few members where an ESA72 has actually been generated.
We are not aware under which scenario an ESA72 is used.
Here's a sample of one :

MSCarer wrote: So completing the application form for Income Related ESA wont generate a re-assessment of ESA?!
No, it is just collecting information on your finances to see whether you are eligible for ESA(IR).
