i am currently in support group for esa and my case has come up for revision after 18 months.
what i am wondering is at what point is form esa113 sent to my doctor - if it is to be sent to my doc at all (i know that sometimes they don't bother.) is it sent before i recieve the esa50 form, or at the same time, or after i have submitted esa50 and they (atos) have recieved it? i am only asking because i have just recieved esa50 and i know that my doctor is going on holiday next week.

Hi d,

Feedback would suggest that if an ESA113 is to be sent to one's G.P., which as you say is by no means a definite, that it would be sent after ATOS receive the ESA50, if they feel that there may be a chance that the claimant should be placed into The SG, and they need more evidence.

Therefore, if you wish to discuss how your G.P. would respond to an ESA113, it would be advisable to do so ASAP.

You could request that the G.P. practice informs you if they do receive an ESA113 to fill in.

Hi d,

See this extract "2.2 ESA113

2.2.1

Background

Most information requests regarding Incapacity Benefit (IB) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) claims will be on the ESA113.

We ask you to complete this form if we think that the patient may have a severe health condition or disability but do not have enough information to be sure.

The forms should be returned within 5 working days from the date of receipt."
