I had real good news today re my first assessment which I had with ATOS 2 weeks ago, I had not received the brown envelope so decided to call the office today and I am in the support group for 1 year which actually ends in December as that was when it started from. I asked the lady what would happen then and she explained I would receive another form to fill out and return before that date and then a decision would be made as to whether I would have to have another ATOS meeting or just remain on the support. What is the chance of not having to go through another ATOS meeting?
I had a feeling I would get in to the support group as the lady who interviewed me was very kind and after about 20 minutes said she going to stop the interview as she would not put me through any more hell. She said I was not suffering from depression but post traumatic stress after a life turning upside down event that happened to me last year. I was in a really bad way all through the interview.I will be 60 next year.
Can anyone tell me when can I expect the form and how long before they reply and if I have to have another ATOS interview will it take as long as the first one which was over 5 months. Also does the money go down again while waiting on the decision.
My money is going to go up to £121 from £71 which is a really nice surprise and will be backdated, I knew it would go up but did not think by so much.
I want to thank you all for your support, and by the way I did get the meeting recorded on your advice and I also had my ex sister in law with me who is a qualified psychotherapist which really helped me.
Bye for now,
Suki

Congratulations on the award.
If your renewal is in December then you should expect to receive a new ESA50 around October, you will continue to receive the Support Group rate until a new Decision is made on your claim, I am afraid there is no way to know how long your next assessment will take or whether you will need to attend another assessment.
