Current WCA waiting times was created by olivepeel
I made a claim for ESA over 18 weeks ago and still no sign of the WCA. It is 10 weeks since I sent back the ESA50.
Is this typical currently? I live in south London.
Is there any point calling ATOS?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hello Olive and welcome to the forum. As this is your first post you might like to look at this link which will help you find your way around the site
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I'm afraid that it can take ATOS a long time to get in touch after you have submitted the ESA50, 4 or 5 months is not unusual!
How long until they make a decision?
However, if you wish to know what is happening then you do need to contact ATOS I'm afraid.

Rang ATOS.
Told that the file is still under review at Wembley. Took this to mean in a tall stack gathering dust.
Asked about likely timings etc but got no real indication.
What a shambles.

Indeed it is! Some people like to let their MPs know how the system is really 'working'
Contacting your MP
You can formally complain to both ATOS and DWP but might be better doing that when you actually know how long your wait has been.

Today recd letter after getting on for 12 m ; in SG (no medical).
You have no idea.....
No mention in letter of how long . Does ESA85D contain this info or do I just need to ring up?
Should I expect another ESA 50 straight away?

Congratulations on being placed in the SG.
They should be able to tell you over the phone when you are likely to be re-assessed, although it would still be worth your while requesting the ESA85A to see what you likely scored points for or how you met the SG criteria.
They can't re-assess you for 3 months but it would be very unusual for the DWP to have set a period of less than 12 months for someone in the SG and given you had no face to face it is likely to be 2 or 3 years.
