DLA renewal great news was created by hassled mum
I sent of my renewal forms for dla on the 10th October, today I recieved the "brown envelope" which I couldn't face opening until I had made a strong cup of tea, well with the usual feeling of dispair as I openend it I couldn't believe what I was reading and had to re read several times, my dla award for mobility was renewed at high rate (which is what it was before) but I was also awarded higher rate care component too. I was not awarded any care component before although I felt I needed it I was too afraid of appealing incase I lost my mobility allowance. So once again thankyou b&w for the great support of everyone and the fantastic downloads which I used to fill in my claim, my biggest problem with form filling apart from the stress and exhaustion was not really fully understanding what the questions were actually asking, and so with more clarity I was able to fill in the form subit all evidence and three weeks later get a response of hrmc & hrcc without a medical. In the notes on the enclosed letter they mentioned using the evidence of my atos medical for esa from last year and the medical evidence enclosed was sufficiant. Thankyou all so much I could not have done it without you,now I will be able to pay for my care support to come more often. Now to tackle the esa renewal (wrag) when that comes through, I thought it would be here by now as it expires on the 10th nov. however all evidence collated and ready to go.

Well done, it must be a great weight off your mind. I too sent off my renewal in August, but they sent it back because I'd somehow missed off the second signature required. I had a letter telling me they'd received it on 13 September. Had another letter telling me they were waiting for my GP to reply and I'm still waiting. I'm terrified that they will refuse me the mobility component I went to a Tribunal for 2 years ago. If they don't reissue it, then I'm trapped again indoors. Fingers crossed though. Jenny
