DLA Reassessment Success!!! was created by mayflower
I have just about recovered from the (happy) shock of receiving yesterday a brown envelope from DWP, 10 days after posting the form & 50 typed pages of additional information & a dozen medical reports, confirming I have been awarded DLA HR Mobility & HR Care for an an indefinite period :) :). I had fully expected not only to have a long wait to hear back but also to be called for an assessement so was bowled over by this result. Fortuitously, my area is one of the last to change over to PIP so I all I had to do was update my previous DLA claim rather than start afresh with PIP.

Interestingly, I had another brown envelope from DWP today, acknowledging receipt of my claim & that it was being considered  .

I have ME/CFS & was previously awarded DLA HR Mobility & HR Care, without an assessement, for 4 years & have also been successful with ESA, being placed in the SG, most recently without being called for a WCA.

I cannot thank B&W enough for its wonderful guides & advice; I would not have been anything like as successful without you.

I am generally an optimist & like a lot of people tend to downplay the effects of my illness which is of course exactly what we should not do when claiming ESA, DLA & PIP. I find it depressing to focus on what I can't do rather than on what I can but it's a necessary evil as to not do so means I reduce my chances of getting a fair result. At least now I can relax & regain a more positive outlook on lifen - until I get migrated to PIP.

With grateful thanks to Steve & Holliday & all the Mods. B&W is a lifeline offering hope in very stormy  seas.

Hi,

As a fellow PWME (on LRM/LRC and ESA-SG) may I ask how you managed to get medical reports? In 25 years of tests, consultations etc. I've a grand total of no reports - as no definitive findings have been made - which is fairly typical for M.E.

Thanks

Congratulations Mayflower, I've had a very similar experience. Posted my claim for DLA renewal on 20th April & received a decision in my favour dated 22nd (LR mobility & LR care). Never known anything like it. Are they pushing the remaining DLA renewals through superquick so they don't add to the backlog? Like you I have ME/CFS, but I hadn't provided any medical reports, just my own description of how my illness affects me.

I second everything you say about having to focus on what you can't do, it's extremely unpleasant. Once again a massive thank you to B&W for its vital support.
