ESA Support Group - No Info on How Long For was created by Paul R
I would like to thank benefits and work for the brilliant advice I have received and from members.
I have received ESA and have been put in the support group
I also had to apply for PIP from DLA but I haven't received an award. I will apply for a reconsideration
I did think that because I had been put in the support group I might have been awarded PIP, obviously I was wrong.
Something is puzzling me. On the ESA letter there was no mention of how long it would be before I would have to apply again for ESA. Is this usual at the moment because I have seen many times that members of benefits and work have been told how long the ESA will be for.
Thanks for your help and advice.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

That's great news Paul! Thanks for letting us know and for your kind words about B+W
DWP do not routinely notify the claimant when to expect reassessment. However, you can find out easily by phoning DWP and asking for the 'prognosis' from your computer file.
You can also get a copy of the assessor's report, which can be helpful for future claims. Ask for this while you are on the phone to DWP (although we always suggest you follow up in writing). It will be an ESA85 if you had a face2face appointment or ESA85a if you did not.
