The reason I’m interested is to find out if the whole ‘pip will continue whilst awaiting reassessment’ would apply to me

Hi. My PIP was stopped at Tribunal end date. Luckily ‘renewal’ only took 3 weeks and PIP was backdated. Months of drama with ESA Premiums though..

How am I suppose to pay the bills then if it takes 10 months to process on average, and I’ve only got 6 months?

Kieran, What I would do is start collecting your evidence together now. It is treated as a ‘new’ application. In mine I put in CAPITALS on each section the points the Tribunal had given me and the award dates. Also mention it again in the additional info bit that it was a 5 year award and the award given [regular/enhanced]. If you want your award to increase make sure your medical info more than covers this.

Do a draft application now so you can see any gaps, and you have time to ‘fill’ them. supporting letters help a treat.. I would then phone up (at the earliest) 3 months before the end date. Remember that a 28 day countdown clock begins as soon as you phone up.

I personally waited til 28 days of my award running out before I phoned up. But spent the months prior to this gathering evidence. Also remember to state any Covid issues, such as being CEV, or unable to attend out-patients/ outpatients being closed etc.

I also prepared for my MR whilst I was doing my application to ensure all bases were covered. Good Luck.. Putting the work in helped me. I got a response in 3 weeks.. Same award for 6 years this time.. (was 5 prior to this).

Hi Kieran With Tribunal cases it is hit or miss as to whether or not you get sent a renewal, quite often we hear on the forum from members whose claim has stopped, it turns out that they won their appeal at a Tribunal. If you win at a Tribunal we advise claimants to contact DWP 6 months before the end of their claim for a review form, sometimes they get one but more often they get a new claims form. I don't personally think it makes much different as we advise claimants to treat a review form as if you were applying for PIP for the first time, the only difference is that you can use your original form (if you kept a copy) as a template. Gary

Hi Gary,

Having read your post, and in particular the beginning, it just seems so discriminatory against claimants who have fought to get what they rightfully deserve by way of taking the DWP to a tribunal.

To not be sent a renewal pack just because you've had the cheek to challenge a wrongful decision is way out of line and an act of outright, blatant discrimination.

It needs stopping!

Regards,

Phrank.
