PIP renewal - how much longer? was created by amandajane
Hi all
Sorry if anyone's asked this recently, I couldn't find it.
I submitted my PIP review paperwork on 21.12.21, the DWP have acknowledged receipt and sent me a text a month ago saying: 'We still have your PIP form, you might have to see an assessor'.
I've heard. nothing since. I know they are in chaos and the answer is: 'How long is a piece of string?' but I'm really worried about it. Since my first award, I've had two detached retinas and cataract operations and now have vision classed as mild visual impairment, this is additional to my original problems which are still ongoing and I have provided specialists' and GPs' confirmation of.
Many thanks for any responses and best wishes to all. Amandajane x

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi amandajane
Before Covid came along we could give you a time line that was reasonably accurate, unfortunately from what we heard on the forum it varies from region to region, some claims take a few weeks, others take many months.
You are correct, there is a massive backlog, sorry we cannot be more accurate.

Hi amandajane,
Just to let you know that one of my neighbours had their PIP renewal package up on the system around the middle of December last year.
They haven't heard anything since.
I thought I'd let you know so you don't feel singled out. It is so frustrating, I know - but there seems to be a mega backlog in some areas.
I sincerely hope you hear something soon.
Regards,
Phrank.

I'm worried about passing the DWP's 'expiry date' for PIP payments, and being cut off.
May I ask, are they still making the regular usual payments to you? Certainly hope so - it's in their hands.
