Can I ask?

If your condition has slightly improved in one area but got worse in another. What do you do?

Hi sierra

Do nothing unless, your condition has improved in which case report it to the DWP as a change of circumstances.

It looks like the ESA/UC guide is in error, I've checked the UC and ESA legislation and as you say it refers to Getting About although it is still about the claimant going out, I'll drop Steve an email.

I thought the point of the ESA review was to see if your condition has improved or got worse?

Isn’t that the reason for a review? My award was for one year only. Well ongoing award with a view to reviewing in one year’s time.

I have other health conditions now too such as PTSD, suspected autism, ADHD referral etc.

Do you judge an improvement in your condition against the descriptors? For example: if you would score less etc (a bit like with PIP)

Or just as a general rule of thumb, as in yeah “I’m feeling good now and my depression/anxiety is resolved”.

I’m new to this and can appreciate my questions are probably annoying.

You are correct the point of a ESA review is to see whether or not your condition has improved.

Many claimants conditions vary on a day to day basis, you only need to report a change if your condition improves for the majority of time.

Before you report a change you should speak to a medical professional for a honest opinion.

Thanks Gordon

I usually use the Disability Rights Handbook (edition 47) when I am checking information.
