I've had an overpayment of almost £600 as they only took into account £60 of my ESA.
You couldn't make it up! It's just one more thing to add to the list of issues I'm having with DWP I guess.

Hello everyone,
I contacted the UC staff via the journal because there seems to be a discrepancy of about £300 on my April payment, and they replied with this:
"Hello.
please compare your earlier statement 30.3.26 to your 30.4.26
ESA uprated in April and is a weekly paid benefit.
It will be pro rated within your UC calendar monthly payment
Thank you
UC"
This reply makes it all as clear as mud! A week has gone by and I have not heard any more. I am not sure how to respond, maybe I should just repeat the initial concern? I am reluctant to phone them as I prefer to have everything in print when dealing with them - too much correspondence has gone missing in the past.

They could at least have given you information about the UC annual uprating as per below:-
When Universal Credit rates take effect (2026/27)
Benefit rates change each year in April. This year benefit rates officially go up on 6 April (beginning of 2026/27 tax year).
For many benefits, the new rates will take effect from 7 April. However, for some Universal Credit claimants, increased rates will take effect around June. This is because The new rate won’t be paid until the first assessment period that begins on or after 7 April.
