UC overpayment

I received a reply which said it was caused by the updated ESA award, which makes no sense to me as the ESA amount they subtracted was less than it has been in previous months. I received a link in my journal to a letter telling me I'd been overpaid UC and could either do nothing and they'll take it back in monthly installments, or I could pay the full amount into their bank account.

Sick&Tired - you'll probably find, like me, that the wrong amount will go into your bank account and you'll have to pay it back. I've not been asked to send in bank statements.

Me too! Apologies I’ve just posted about this. Twice it’s happened to us now. Just as you think you know what’s happened, they tell you something completely different. I’m always writing on the journal, I’m trying make them as sick of me as I am of them 🤭

This happened to me too - exactly as described by others, so immediately contacted Debbie Abrahams (Chair, Work and Pensions Committee), and my own MP - both of whom are going to question the situation.
For some people this additional money will pull them into additional care fees and council tax.
We have already got 3 different constituents who have submitted evidence.
I have taken the absolute liberty - and I hope you dont mind - of submitting screen shots of your cases to Debbie to add to the evidence pack.
I have taken out any names - even screen names, so your personal details cannot be traced.
