atos report incorrect used incorrect was created by sandra
Hi,I've been through my Atos medical report over and over again, checking it inside out, before I respond to it. I have found in the report the health professional refers to an illness I have as being Arthritis instead of Arteritis which is a completly different illness and not even remotley like arthritis. She has also stated that I had been diagnosed with nerve problems in the spine, this is yet again incorrect as i was actually diagnosed with trapped and damaged nerves in my neck, hence problems with neck shoulders and arms but she has put trapped nerves in spine and stated upper limbs unlikly to be affected, and all the way through seems to say no problem with upper body, which I couldn't understand.
Do you think that this incorrect information would help me with my appeal or a even be enough to make a complaint to Atos

You really need to look at the two things seperately as simply refuting the report will not be enough to get the result you desire (I'm sorry, I don't know whether you are objecting to de cision to find you 'fit for work' or to being put into the WRAG).

In addition to complaining to ATOS you should also decide which descriptors you feel apply to you and provide evidence of this.

Complaining to ATOS Healthcare

Hi, I was actually found fit for work because I only scored 6 points but now that I have seen the report I can see why because she has put the wrong illness down and she made considerations on the wrong fact, by saying the nerves in spine were trapped and it should have been the neck

Sandra, whilst I agree that 'arteritis' is clearly a very different condition from 'arthritis', I would argue that the neck is part of the spine.

This is an appalling error by the Atos HCP referring to arthritis, when in fact you have arteritis.

In my opinion, this should certainly be brought to the attention of the Tribunals Service, the Regional Office dealing with your appeal will have a telephone numberon any correspondence you have from them.

Again, in my opinion, such a mistake also merits a complaint to Atos Healthcare which you can do by sending an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you have a scanner, then I'd scan the 'medical report' outline the mistake and attach it to the e-mail.

Mrs HB, arteritis is inflammation of an artery or other blood vessel so not sure why you stated " Sandra, whilst I agree that 'arteritis' is clearly a very different condition from 'arthritis', I would argue that the neck is part of the spine."

Yes I agree that it is part of the spine but the condition is called crvical-algia and affects to upper parts of the body/upper limbs, but she states that nevre problem in the spine wolud not affect the upper body so it doesnt seem to me that she would be referring to the neck
