Still have no idea what's actually going off with this interview, rang up the JC this morning to check that I hadn't been sanctioned or anything for not attending the interview that I was suppose to on Monday and the lady on the phone said it WASN'T mandatory for me to attend anyway as I am in the Support Group....So now I'm panicking as to why did I get a phone call from a lady at the JC where my appointment was suppose to be held aweek ago saying if I don't attend I'll have to be put down for a home visit and she said it was just a routine review -.-

Let us know when you hear something Mathew. I hope all is ok. It seems like you're getting mixed messages from them. Maybe worth calling them again and getting something in writing?

Right it's been 3 weeks since my original appointment @ the Jobcentre which I didn't attend due to my medical condition. I've been referred for a home visit and according to the Jobcentre it is just a standard review to check I'm getting all the entitlements I should be and that there has been no change in circumstances since my original claim. Its just a waiting game now if the home visit team deem it necessary to carry the visit out I've been told it could happen it could not

Hi M,

Thanks for the update ! :)

They must give you prior notice, they can not just turn up unannounced.

If they do, and you don't want to let them in, you can politely refuse, and ask them to make an appointment in writing.

In case you haven't already read it, Gordon has written a post summarising information regarding this scenario in :

The Spotlight Area.

As advised, you can challenge them to ascertain exactly "what" the interview is pertaining to, and whether it is Mandatory or Voluntary.

You can then make an informed decision on whether to attend.

Further information can be seen in : This Topic and from the links included therein to other associated topics.

You will see more detail with respect to DWP Decision Makers Guidance and ESA Regulations on not having to take part in WRA/WFI if in The SG, and " Reasonable Adjustments" for disabled people as covered under The Equality Act 2010. (EA2010)

Please keep us updated.
