CB ESA query

Good evening,

I have attached this question to our original thread as it relates to the same ESA CB claim. Apologies if you would prefer me to start a new thread after so long.

My husband has received a letter today from the ESA office dealing with his claim. It is headed - Your claim for ESA and Changes in Social Security Benefits. I originally thought that it was the notification of the new rates, as it says that they will be payable from 11/04/19 to 27/11/19, which I think is when his £10 Christmas bonus is due. The thing that makes me wonder, is the fact that it states that if he doesn't agree with the decision, either he or someone acting on his behalf, can request a mandatory reconsideration within one month of the date of the letter. I honestly can't remember seeing that in previous rate increase letters, so wondered if you knew please.

My husband's original award of WRAG was made until January 2018. When the decision was revised to Support Group prior to appeal, I don't know if the length of the award was extended too. As he hasn't received an ESA50 since, or been called for another WCA, it would be great if this was a paper based decision for him to remain in the Support Group.

We have avoided calling to check the prognosis as we didn't want to risk triggering a review. Please do you know if it only award letters that offer a mandatory reconsideration followed by appeal?
