You can choose which room you want the assessment held in. The assessor is a guest in your home. They should not ask to look around the rest of your home. However, if you have certain aids or adaptations (maybe an adapted bathroom, for instance) then you might wish to show them this.
You can have someone with you during the assessment and we usually advise that you do so.
The assessor might arrive on time (if you are lucky) but s/he is just as likely to arrive early, late or not at all.
