DWP cancelled my med assessment.

I got a letter from the DWP cancelling my medical assessment. They said I don't have to go now. I was due there on monday has anybody had a letter had a letter like this? Seems a bit strange to me. Thanks in advance

Face to face assessments are often cancelled, usually for one of two reasons -

1) The assessment has been postponed due to lack of time/assessor calling in sick etc

2) The assessment has been cancelled because the assessor believes they have enough information to make a decision without seeing the claimant.

Was your letter actually from the DWP or an Assessment Provider (ATOS, Capita or Maximus/HAAS)? If it was from DWP then it is likely that a decision will be made without you needing a face2face assessment. You don't say which benefit this relates to, so I can't comment on the likelihood of your claim having been successful.

Hi Mrs Hurtyback and thanks for the welcome. The letter was from the assessment centre and the benefit is esa. A couple of years ago I was transfered from IB and placed straight in WRAG which I apealled and I was then placed in the support group.. This site is fab it even helped me fill in the form again
