Housing Benefit suspended (ESA) was created by Peter Parker
Hello, I am new to this group and just wanted to know if DWP send a letter to claimants after the Work Capability Assessment that shows how they made their decision. I was in the Support Group and now have been placed in the WRAG instead this week. I received a letter to attend the Jobcentre, but that is only to confirm a WRAG interview. I am not sure if I need to chase DWP up for the decision letter which I will need for a mandatory reconsideration. Any help and advice is appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

You will receive a Decision Letter with the award, if any and the date that it applies from.

If you are found Fit for Work then you will receive details of why you failed, but if an award is made you will not receive additional information, however, you can request a copy of the ESA85 assessment report if you had a face to face or ESA85A if you did not, this should give you an idea of what Descriptors that you met,

Thank you for your help Gordon, my profile name is not my own, but thanks for pointing that out. I received confirmation letter of WRAG award and that I am no longer in Support Group today. I haven't received my medical report, not sure if I should chase that up and how though.
I spoke to my Benefits centre in Basildon and they gave me an address to send my Mandatory Reconsideration letter which is: Freepost, DWP, ESA2.
Is this address ok to send my reconsideration letter in your opinion?
Thanks again for your advice.

My Spidey senses are obviously off the ball at the moment.

It's not an address that I recognise, I would be tempted to use the address on the Decision letter.

Yes you are right about the spidey senses tingling :) I'll send it to the address on the decision letter I think as you suggest. Do DWP send claimants their assessment medical report or is it something that has to be requested by the claimant?
Thanks

Hello, my Housing Benefit has been suspended after I have recently been moved to WRAG from Support Group. I haven't as yet sent a Mandatory Reconsideration letter so am confused why my Housing benefit is affected. I am hoping it is just a mistake or a part of the process. Does anybody know of same or similar circumstances that they could advise me as what I should do? Thank you.
