Its stupid to but I'm feeling quite positive now I've met with CAB. Fingers crossed.

Glad to hear you have found support, it's unusual for the CAB to get involved in MRs nowadays.

Just to add, the chap I met with from citizens advice asked about my face-to-face assessment. When I explained what happened he said he knew who had done it because he'd had other clients with the same guy who had done the same to them. Kind of proves the assessments are to kick people off the benefit.

So, if its ok with all of you, I'm going to continue to post in this topic (even if no on replies) in an attempt to maybe help someone else in the same situation. I am forever googling, searching forums to find a story that I can relate to from my personal point of view. And I'm sure I'm not the only one that does that.

Don't get me wrong, everyone is struggling and going through the same nightmare. Believe me, I feel for you all - it's a horrendous situation that we shouldn't be put in. We shouldn't need to fight so much for something that we need, we shouldn't need to spend months worrying and being stressed out when we all have conditions that worry and stress will make worse!

So, here's my update. My Mandatory Reconsideration letter has been sent! It's done! I've also sent along a supporting letter from my GP. And also a letter from my specialist is being sent next week for further supporting evidence.

I am not feeling hopeful that this will all be turned around as a result of this MR. I think the DWP are too stubborn for that. I think this is going to be a long and stressful process. But I do think I will eventually get the result I need... it's just a long way off.

Do we know how long mandatory reconsiderations are taking at the moment?

I recieved a text message that said its being looked at... Does that mean it's actually being looked at or they're just acknowledging that I've sent them a letter?

Thanks

My best guess is 4-5 weeks from when the request is made, although we have seen a few taking months. The text is far more likely to be an acknowledgement that they have received it than that they are actually looking at it.
