Daughters DLA Mandatory Reconsideration was created by sashrocks
29.2.2016 I attended a mandatory reconsideration for my 13 year old daughters DLA.
After making numerous phone calls and chasing for the decision notice I finally got the 'Decision Notice' on 17.3.2016. It just said:
1. The appeal is refused.
2. The decision made by the Secretary of State on 9.10.2015 is confirmed.
3. Xx is not entitled to either component of DLA with effect from 9.12.2015. This is because she does not satisfy the statutory criteria of either component at any rate.
21.3.2016 - I rang to ask 'is that it!' I was told that I should have received a summary of rules which should have gone out with the Decision Notice. I never received anything. More chasing and speaking to different people, I was told that I needed to do an email requesting -
1. Statement of Reasons.
2. Records of Proceedings.
I have called a few times to find out when these will be done but not had much luck, told to just wait! The last call I made I was told, quite rudely, that the 'Judge' does not have a timescale for having to get them done by!! So from a mandatory reconsideration on 29.2.2016 I am still waiting for the two things to be done. So my questions are:
Is this normal? Do I just wait and I can't chase it? Or is there anything else I can do?
This is so stressful as I have the same condition as my daughter and she has to be home-educated because of her condition. Help! Please! Thanks.

HI and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm afraid I am a little confused. You mention 'attending' a Mandatory Reconsideration and then talk about a 'judge'.

Are you really referring to a MR or was this a formal appeal? The advice will differ depending on the situation.

If you will re[ply to this message with clarification we will do our best to help

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
