Pip appeal was created by Joby
Appealed against award of 8 points on each component. It hasn't gone to appeal yet but I have just had a call from DWP saying they have had a dr reassess my claim with the new evidence and I have been awarded 11 points for care which means I still get standard, and 12 for mobility which gives me back my enhanced rate. She said do I want to accept or still go to appeal? I feel I should have enhanced both but am torn as to what to what to do for the best... Any advice is appreciated. I requested not to attend the tribunal as I couldn't deal with it in my condition. Do I still go to appeal and hope I don't lose the enhanced mobility they offered but maybe gain that extra point needed for enhanced as well???

Hi Joby,
That depends on whether you can see where you should gain another point or two (there is only 1 descriptor that has 1 point attached to it). You should also consider how difficult/easy it is for you to show evidence of that.
In an oral appeal, the claimant is the best evidence there is and the panel would want to see for themselves how you are affected. With a paper appeal you are relying entirely on the evidence you have been able to submit.

Thank you Mrs hurtyback, but I don't know where they awarded me the extra 3 points, so can't work out how I get 1 more point. By My calculations I should get 16 points but originally was awarded 8. I put on the form that I couldn't attend the appeal due to my illness. x

Hi, once again thankyou for replying.yes I got the report and used it to appeal. The appeal had been in for 5 weeks. Today I got a call from DWP saying that a dr had looked at my further evidence and upped the points from 8 to 11 care and 8 to 12 mobility and did I want to accept this and not appeal. X

The decision has to be yours I'm afraid.
