Severe Diaability Premium question was created by marieukxx
Hiya,
I got a letter today with a form to fill in for SDP. I've filled it in. Do I even qualify? It's not somethine I knew about until the form today and a quick google. I live with both my parents so put that on the form. I pay my dad for food and stuff so put that on the form. Nobody gets carers for me and both my parents get DLA the daily living componment (both middle rate).
Anybody got any ideas if I qualify? Thanks

Hello Marie
I googled Severe Disability Premium through Turn2Us, and it says that you qualify if you
Are receiving a qualifying benefit.
No-one is receiving carer's allowance for you and
Anyone living with you (parents) must also be in receipt of a qualifying benefit.
So from this it would seem that yes, you are entitled to the p remium.
Just to be sure, before you will in your form, google Turn2Us yourself, and ask what is Severe Disability Premium and read it through to make sure that you fit all the criteria.
Good luck with the application

Thanks, so it's the ESA line I ring for this? I was assuming it was PIP.

The premium is paid as part of ESA so this is the department you should contact.
