Confused about pips and benefits in general

I have been on benefit for a long time including DLA. Then I got told I had to claim pips and my DLA was stopped. I have no idea who to talk to to get general advice. I have no idea what benefit I can apply for or not. Nobody at pips is prepared to talk with me. As example I got my car tax paid for. Now I am not on DLA and this pips claim has dragged on do I still get that help or not? My pension is not enough to live on.
I do have a orivste company pension I was told I could take a lump sum from. But I can't because I have two annuities worth 17.00 per month that prevent the release of the pension. So the government get it as I can only leave it to a Spode and I have no spouse or family.
All I really want is to explain the last few years to a person who will talk to me. I can't understand why I am not on pips as my health has got worse and is not going to get better. The mental stress is not worth all of this nonsense. All I want is a person who can phone me or visit me as I am more or less stuck in just to talk with. Any ideas? Thank you

I meant to comment that these forms and letters mean nothing to me. I just get confused and get nowhere. Is there a person or organisation who can visit at home to go through things? I recall being in a special group. My GP has always written to support my claims so have never had a medical but I have several serious health issues and the bones of these are not taken into account. I can't wear shoes so going out is not an option. No consultant can work out any problem so it seems I am always being difficult. I broke my back. The hospital did not X-ray my spine or neck for 5 days and that was because I physically pulled a doctor to me and told him to feel my spine. God knows the damage caused by being moved around for a week with a broken back. There is no box to tick medical negligence, just help me and I will cope! The NHS have paid for no medical aids I need to use, I have spent a fortune. All I ask is someone sit with me, without rushing me and go through this minefield. I don't want to scam anyone, I just want the help I feel I deserve. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

We will do our best to help you but we need some more information.

It sounds from your post as if you were invited to claim PIP as a replacement for your DLA, is this the case and how did your claim go?

You say your DLA has stopped, this suggests that you have had a result on your PIP claim, dis you receive an award or not?

If your PIP claim was unsuccessful, when did this happen?

Did you score any points?

I'm afraid we can't help you with your pensions, I suggest you try an get an appointment at your local CAB, even if they cannot help you they will be able to put you in touch with someone who can.

I have found your forms and am reading them slowly. I got asked to transfer to pips. I waited a long time then eventually got in touch with them. They said they had made an appointment for me to go see. Them. I never got that letter. When they queried my absence I told the truth! I said I had not got their letter. They replied telling me that was an unacceptable response. I then wrote a letter asking them to take a look at my notes, sent them some hospital transfer notes. I have to admit this story is long and complicated but I have not lied. They sent me a letter. Saying my DLA was being cancelled on either 24 or 27 of August and nothing else was coming to me but my government pension. I have spent two weeks trying to ring them and got through today. I got told they had my letter but nothing else. Basically I was trying to ask who I spoke with about any income or benefits I may be entitled to and they said they can't help and out the phone down. I never even got chance to get their address to send further hospital notes and a copy of my doctors letter. So st the moment I do not know what is happening. I just know I have lost a lot of benefit money which I do need due to my injuries and other health issues. I need help every day. I cannot go out alone. It goes on and on. I was told all DLA was being stopped and I had to go onto pips or I would lose my DLA and I have! Does that help? The cab cannot advise on my pension. I went to a very good firm who deal in this and spent a fortune and nobody has an answer regarding those annuities. I am now pretty much disabled but the questions they ask don't take into consideration long term problems, more what you are like on the day. I am at desperation point truth be told. I just wNt a department I can ring and get through to who can answer my questions. Thanks.

So your PIP claim and as a consequence your DLA have been closed for failing to attend. For this to happen you would have needed to have missed to assessment appointments, have you received any letters from Capita or ATOS?

It's unclear from your post whether the DWP have treated your communications with them as a request for Mandatory Reconsideration, do you know whether one of these has been done or not.

Your problem is that it is very difficult to overturn a failure to attend Decision and it will depend to a considerable extent on your ability to communicate with the DWP, do you feel up to that?

The alternative is for you to make a new claim for PIP, but you will not receive any benefit payments until and unless you receive an award.

You can try and find local support, do an internet search for "welfare advice" wit your postcode, town or county.

I assume that you do not work, have you looked at making a claim for ESA?

I spoke today with the pip folks. They are vague but say my letter to them has gone back to someone and they will get someone to ring me. I missed one appointment and we did not get notification of that otherwise I would have gone. I asked them who I should speak to regarding my benefits and just got told to wait to be contacted. I have only had a letter telling me that they did not find my response about not getting an appointment suitable. I responded by asking them to reconsider their view. That is as far as I am up to. I will have to do whatever it takes to get my benefit. I do genuinely deserve it. I considered making a claim but not sure which department ESA is with. I don't want to get all caught up and cause problems for myself and it would have helped if the pip folks would have been clear. They know I am not on any benefit now and I got the impression this is why someone would be calling me but was not given any other details. I will wait a week then chase up again and keep in touch with this forum.
