WCA -had to cancel due to further medical evidence was created by 2ill
Hello,
My Mum is 59 she was retired due to ill health some 15 years ago. She and was transferred from IB and Returned ESA50 form in March 2016. Received DWP letter a month later to inform her placed in SG. She suffers from double scoliosis with steel rods operation, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and has spent past 18 months in and out of hospital. She is on morphine due to severe pain most of the day. She has methotrexate weekly injections and has a suitcase full of medication. I had to cancel her WCA appt. last week as she cannot move with pain and she also has breathing difficulties. Occcupational Therapist has delivered a hospital bed to our lounge as she cannot use stairs. I have been offered a new WCA for next week but she will not be able to go as it has a stairway entrance. She has new medical notes and GP letter. What shall I do now?

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I am sorry to hear that your mother is so unwell
Have you requested a home assessment for her? Did you accept the appointment for next week?
The claimant is allowed to rearrange the assessment only once without risking their file being returned to DWP and the claim closed. This can be appealed but DWP close the claim first and ask questions later, so it does cause a great amount of stress!
If you have not already accepted the appointment next week, it would be worth sending in your new evidence to Maximus and requesting that the assessment be carried out at home if still deemed necessary.
Please reply to this message with further questions or information and we will do our best to help. You will find it easily in future if you bookmark/favourite it on your web browser now

Thank you for your quick reply Mrs.Hurtyback.
I had to phone to cancel last week's appt. and they made a new one there and then. Just don't know what to do now. Shall I just copy all her new medical info and send it to the 2 offices involved? I don't think I can cancel the new appt again. Mum says they will have to come to her home?

It certainly sounds as if your mother needs a home visit! However, this won't happen without being specifically requested.
I think sending the new information to Maximus, asap, is a very good idea. If you phone, or email, they might be able to tell you whether you can send the documents electronically to save time. Has your mother's GP specifically said in his letter that she needs a home assessment? It is unusual to get one without medical backing in writing.

The GP letter does not state a home visit but it does state that she cannot stand, sit, bend, walk without assistance. It also states that she cannot use stairs. Will this info be enough to request a home visit?

No, you need it to say that she cannot travel to their offices and why.
