Can i RECORD DWP PHONE Calls ?

Wondered if a moderator could let me know whether I can record DWP phone calls as
am expecting my next one to be Bullying me To Withdraw My Appeal !

You really could not make it up ! Was horrified how many people on Forum that DWP ring and ask to withdraw the Appeal.

Just would clarification about recording calls and do I have to tell them I am recording it ?

It is perfectly legal to record your own calls (whether outgoing or incoming), you do not have to tell the other person that you are doing this.

This thread caught my attention. Has anyone any experience of recording telephone calls and, if so, what equipment did you use? Suggestions will be very welcome.

I use an Olympus digital voice recorder VN-6200pc. You can get a lead off ebay that plugs into a twin bt socket adapter which then plugs into the microphone socket on the recorder. Gives you many hours of recording. I always state the call is being recorded. Also great for covertly recording when placed in a pocket.

In reply, I had a look and on Amazon you can get like a small machine to record. Just search telephone recording and small recording devices come up like dictating machines from about £15. I was planning on putting the phone on speakerphone to record the conversation, would test before use.

You do not say where you are with your case, but from my own experience it would have been useful to have had some conversations recorded as they said things they were not wanting or willing to put in writing, such as saying they had not received documents which I sent special delivery. Also the amount of people on the forum who are getting calls from DWP staff to Bully them into withdrawing their claim, is a total disgrace.

On my android phone i use smart call recorder pro . It was free download from google play. You can turn it on before the call and turn it off after (otherwise it records every call) works fine
