I do have cervical arthritis/spondylosis which they seem to have ignored. I can claim for esa whilst awaiting my tribunal, but do I need a fit note? I have never needed one whilst being on esa in the past?

Don't assume that either the assessor or the DM (who is not medically trained) will make the leap from a diagnosis to your being unable to use a wheelchair you need to explicitly state the problems you would have.
Yes, you need a Fit Note to enable payment of the ESA Assessment rate while you wait for a hearing.
