ESA Renewal was created by Jasmine3234
Hi
I had to complete an ESA renewal at the beginning of September. I rang DWP 2 weeks ago and while they have received it, the adviser said no decision had been made and as I was still receiving my benefits, there was basically no time scale.
Obviously I am worried sick and just want to know. I am in the Merseyside area, so could anyone tell me how long this might take?
Thanks x

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

We don't have any regional data, but feedback on the forum suggests that most areas have 6-9 month waiting times for an ESA assessment.
Your ESA will remain in payment until a new Decision is made.

Hi, well I was very surprised to receive my decision letter today, regarding the above.
Thankfully I have been placed back into the support group, without a medical, which is a huge weight off my mind. The thought of waiting 6-9 months was freaking me out!
However I would like to know how long the award is for, I know I have to ask for the decision makers report, but I can't seem to find the form number I need to ask for ?
Thank you so much for your help and the guides here, as things have certainly changed since initially transferring from IB to ESA and subsequent reassessments. While my health has not improved, in fact got worse, the way you have to explain things seems to be very important.
Thank you again and if you could let me know what I need to ask DWP for I would be grateful .
