ESA Work Focussed Interview - Surprise was created by Mackemlass
Had a pleasant surprise at the Job Centre!
My daughter has epilepsy and dissociative seizures. She was placed in the WRAG and I took her to her first Work Focussed Interview yesterday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They told us she should be in the Support Group and issued her with an Action Plan which simply states she should request a Mandatory Reconsideration and let them know what happens. They said she did not need to go the Job Centre again and that they would phone her up in 6 weeks time to see how the MR was progressing.
Seems there are some good guys out there... Maybe few and far between, but they are there!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

At the risk of sounding like a party pooper please do not assume that the JC+ staff have the slightest understanding of the criteria that a claimant needs to meet in order to be placed in the Support Group.
Please be aware that Epilepsy cannot directly result in an SG award, see the ESA Claim guide due to physical problems and in particular the Substantial Risk section.

Good news! Following all the advice on this site we submitted a Mandatory Reconsideration with extra supporting evidence from her GP and were successful! My daughter has now been placed in the ESA Support group (substantial risk) and received back-payments. Christmas miracle!
