Well,the inevitable
Brown envelope arrived yesterday requesting if I wished to claim for PIP(presently on DLA)
Couple of questions
I have a 3 week deadline to phone them to make it known if wish to make a claim and then they.ll send out claim forms
1)Any benefit to leave calling them till nearer deadline date or the a tual deadline date or is it a case of call them now and get the process rolling?
2)Once I call them to send claim pack/ form, how long does that take to come?

1. Waiting will give you more time to collect evidence and to prepare for the PIP2.
2. 7-10 days.

You are given a standard four weeks but this includes postage at both ends, you can request a two-week extension by contacting the number on the letter that accompanies the form.

Thought it best to keep my posts in here and hoping they wont be missed instead of cluttering up the board with a new thread.
Submitted my claim via telephone which was requested on letter and after answering the manadatory questions etc was told i,d be contacted by phone in 14 days and would receive my claim form in 4 weeks.
I asked why someone would call me as thought my call to them and me getting form was the process was told this is the first stage of the claim. Is this correct?
What should I expect to be asked when they call and is there anything I should or should not say?

This is not the normal procedure at all! Normally all of the issues with making a claim are dealt with in the phone call made by the claimant, the PIP2 is then sent a couple of days later.
The only thing I can think of for a call to the claimant would be if there are outstanding issues, usually to do with residence.
