Neighbours PIP Review was created by Chris Luff
Just after some thoughts here.
A neighbour has just had his PIP review arrive and as he has literacy problems has asked me to help him.
He has a letter from his GP supporting his claim. Now, the guidance in the form says NOT to send supporting letters from the GP. However, the letter does confirm all his medical conditions. Is it worth sending the letter just for that aspect?

Just for info: The form is the new AR1.

The intention of the AR1 Review form is that it is reviewed in conjunction with the claimants previous PIP2 and any evidence that was attached to it, so your neighbour needs to consider this when completing the form.

It's their claim and they can attach evidence to it if they want but as I was saying above they need to consider how this new letter sits with what has previously been presented and whether they are saying that their problems are the same, worse or better.

If there has been a change then they need to document it in detail but there is an argument if there has been no change, that supplying too detailed a response can cause issues, especially if it is at odds with the contents of previous forms.

Thanks Gordon,

Unfortunately, he cannot remember what was put on the form and the person who completed it for him did not do a copy.
The GP letter has dates from before his previous application.

He says that his condition is slowly getting worse.

My initial thought was to complete the form saying how his condition currently affects him and just comment that his condition has slowly changed since the last time.

If they don't know what was written previously then you will need to consider completing the form in detail for each activity that they have problems with.
